Trained as both composer and performer of contemporary classical acoustic and electronic music, OPENING LINES by THE OCCASIONAL TRIO documents Simon-Mary’s very personal return to the acoustic piano for the first time since 1998.

An album consisting entirely of original compositions, she explores the acoustic jazz trio, a format which has fascinated her since childhood, displaying his skill as leader, improvisor and pianist.

Accompanied by the warm, flowing lines of Roland Fidezius on double bass and the kaleidoscopic textures of Rudi Fischerlehner on drums, THE OCCASIONAL TRIO’s spontaneity and breathtaking interplay are beautifully captured on this recording, made in a single session in the late summer of 2015 prior to an extensive solo tour.
